9th Crystal Growth of Organic Materials (CGOM) Meeting, Singapore

The Crystal Growth of Organic Materials (CGOM) meeting, which was established in the early 1980s, is dedicated to the interplay between physico-chemistry, crystallisation kinetics and the solid form product properties of organic crystals. So far there have been meetings in Japan, UK, USA, Germany, France (CGOM7 http://www.univ-rouen.fr/cgom7/) and Netherlands (CGOM8 http://www.ti.kviv.be/conf/isic17/, merged with the ISIC 17 meeting in Maastricht). For CGOM7 and CGOM8, Kevin Roberts and Gerard Coquerel have been appointed guest editors in Crystal Growth & Design (ACS).

The next meeting, CGOM 9, will take place from August 3 - 6, 2010 in Singapore. The event is organized by the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The key objective of the CGOM 9 is to provide opportunities for academics, researchers and industrialists to interact, exchange ideas, develop fundamental aspects underpinning the crystal growth of organic materials reflecting their technological applications in: food and nutritional products; pharmaceuticals and healthcare products; dyes and pigments; agrochemicals and plant protection products; non-linear optics and IT products; petrochemicals and biofuels energetic materials, etc. The culture and style of the meeting, in contrast to many international conferences, is very informal with close interactions and substantial time being available for discussions.
